The 6 Most Likely Things To Go Wrong With Your Car!Posted on: 24, September, 2018
You know you’re having a bad day when… Anyone of these items on the list below is cause for at least a partially challenging day, but it could ALWAYS be worse, right? The good news is that you have an awesome auto repair shop just around the corner at Robert’s Collision & Repair in Monterey and while we are very adept at repairing collision damage, we’d much rather see you for easy to fix problems like the top auto repair problems we do see on a regular basis:
Dead battery: Ugh! The car won’t start! Maybe it’s because you left your car door slightly ajar and the interior lights drained your battery or it simply might just be the end of the long life of your car battery.
Lost keys: Well, we don’t usually see people for lost key issues, but this can be frustrating nonetheless. What we do recommend is keeping an extra set of keys at home and if you’re like some of us, you might want to keep an extra one in your purse, pocket, or briefcase too!
Flat/damaged tire: While we can help you prevent unnecessary flats through regular tire rotation and visual inspections, we know that it’s easy to run over a nail or hit the curb at just the wrong angle… not that WE’VE ever has done that…
Bad spark plugs: Signs of a bad one can include things like slow acceleration, loss of power, poor fuel economy, engine misfires, or difficulty starting the car. A lot of the time these problems can be correctly diagnosed through regular maintenance service before a spark plug goes awry.
Alternator fail: It’s not always a problem with your battery! Alternators are more challenging to fix than a dead battery. Signs that it’s really your alternator… dim/dimming lights, hard to start, stalling, other electrical failures, strange noises. Since those are also signs of other problems too, have a pro check it out like the awesome and highly skilled auto mechanics at Robert’s Collision & Repair.
Gas cap not on right or has a faulty seal: This can cause gas fumes to get into the interior of your vehicle, can be the reason your vehicle doesn’t pass an emissions test or be the reason for your check-engine light illuminating your dashboard. Check to make sure YOU’RE not the cause and if you’re still having problems, then it’s time to replace it.
Some of these things on the list are easy for you to fix, but when it’s not, just know that the team at Robert’s Collision & Repair are here for you whether it’s one of these items or one of the myriads of other problems your vehicle might be experiencing today. You’re in good hands with our awesome team!
