The Difference Between OEM and Aftermarket Parts

  Have you ever wondered what the difference is between OEM and aftermarket parts?   OEM parts are designed by the same factory and the same equipment your car has been built with. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. These parts are an exact match and are equivalent to the parts your vehicle was made initially when new from the factory.   AFTERMARKET replacement parts made in different factories from molds, templates, or casts that attempt to replicate your original car's components. Some aftermarket parts are reverse-engineered and designed to improve the performance of your vehicle, however many of these "generic" parts made in mass quantity with cost savings in mind.   It may be too late for full-on maintenance before heading home for the holidays, but there’s a few things you can do yourself to help get you where you are going safely and without a breakdown. While most of us don’t have to worry about snow, we want our cars as roadworthy as possible.
