Home For The Holidays In 2020

If you are staying home for the holidays on the Monterey Peninsula, that’s terrific! 2020 has been quite a year, and we are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place on California’s Central Coast. If you are looking for places to hang out on the Monterey Peninsula during the 2020 Winter holidays, we have some ideas for you and your family to enjoy.

Enjoy the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail.

If you like to walk, bike, skateboard, jog, or take a surrey ride along our rocky shore, our recreational trail is one of the best in the world. The majority of visitors stick to the portion of trail between Lovers Point in Pacific Grove to the Tides Hotel at the border of Monterey and Seaside. However, this trail continues further South to Asilomar State Beach and further North to Castroville. The entire trail is beautiful, so enjoy the view and be sure to wear your facemasks.

Go Golfing.

We have world-class golf courses here on the Monterey Peninsula. The Monterey Hyatt Hotel sits on the edge of Del Monte Golf Course, which is one of the oldest golf courses in California. You’ll get a great view from the hills of Seaside from Bayonet & Black Horse. If you’re looking for courses where the locals hang out, check out the Monterey Pines Golf Club and Pacific Grove Golf Links. Of course, if Pebble Beach is on your bucket list, you can’t go wrong with their multiple courses. Truly, you’re going to love golfing here on the Monterey Peninsula.

Get Out on the Water.

If you love the water, you should get out on it or in it. You can choose to kayak, paddleboard, scuba dive, swim, go for a glass bottom boat ride, or take a whale watching cruise. There are so many ways to enjoy our beautiful Monterey Bay. Our water is cold, so be prepared to suit up. If you’re on a whale watching cruise, be sure to bring jackets, hats, and gloves and try to stay dry. Otherwise, you risk feeling cold and miserable before getting back to shore. If you’re planning to go kayaking, wear something you don’t mind getting wet, and don’t forget your sunscreen. If you’re a scuba diver or snorkeler, be sure to wear thicker neoprene or a dry suit to stay warm. If you’re a surfer, you’ll be happier in a wetsuit. If you’re lucky enough to see the sea life and marine mammals up close, please stay 50 feet away from our protected animals. We take pride in our National Marine Sanctuary and we serve to protect our beloved seals, otters, sea lions, birds, whales, dolphins, jellies, sea stars, and more.

Take a Hike.

If you like to hike, there are so many places to enjoy Mother Nature. If you prefer to stay in the city, walk the History Tour in Monterey or hike up and down the hills of our local neighborhoods. If you want to experience more rugged hikes, stay local with the SFB Morse Botanical Reserve, or travel down toward Big Sur to hike Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, Garrapata State Park, Andrew Molera State Park, or Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. All that we ask is that you do everything in your power to prevent fires. All too often, we have hikers that start a fire to get warm and it gets out of control way too quickly. Be extra safe when taking a hike in our beautiful parks and recreation areas.

If you find that your vehicle needs a full detail, a new paint job, dent repairs, or auto body work, we can take care of that for you before or after the holiday. Our locally-owned collision repair shop has proudly served the Monterey Peninsula since 1996 and we want to make sure your vehicle looks terrific. If you need transportation while your vehicle is being repaired, we work closely with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. This rented vehicle can allow you to enjoy exploring the Monterey Peninsula and have fun while we do our part to make it look great again.

Our body shop is located just off Highway 1 at the Del Monte Blvd. Pacific Grove exit. Our shop address is 234 Ramona Avenue, Monterey, CA 93940. We strive to be your one-stop auto shop and we work hard to provide you with an outstanding customer service experience. Our skilled technicians provide the best service in the region.
